Project Background

Following the acquisition of Geauga Lake and approximately 40 acres of land previously occupied by SeaWorld Ohio and Wildwater Kingdom amusement park, the City of Aurora is strategically positioned to embark on this extensive and once-in-a-generation opportunity to envision and transform this area into a regional destination and treasured gem for the residents of Aurora and the neighboring communities.

The site designated for Aurora Park is located on the southeast shoreline of the approximately 60-acre Geauga Lake. The park straddles the Portage and Geauga County lines, with 9.35 acres situated in Bainbridge Township and the remaining 29.36 acres located within the City of Aurora.
